The It Sandals of 2015: Gladiator Sandals

The IT Sandals of 2015: Gladiator Sandals

Spring’s arrival heralds in sandal wearing weather and the gladiator style sandals is one of my must-have sandal style for this year. This Mediterranean shoe is laid-back and versatile as it pairs just as easily with a floaty sundress as it does distressed denim, a maxi dress, shorts or skinny cargo pants. The fashion runways offered variations of this Hercules-inspired shoe with Valentino and Stella McCartney showcasing a simple strappy version, while Chloe and fast-fashion house Zara offered a more bohemian lace-up version of the classic gladiator sandal.

The IT Sandals of 2015: Gladiator Sandals

Whether you prefer a strappy pair that laces up the leg or a simpler ankle length, this look is destined for a beachside stroll in the French Riviera…or to at least make you feel as though you there! This intricate shoe is the complete opposite of last year’s It Shoe, the Birkenstock which was earthy, hippie and easy to slip on. The gladiator sandal harkens back to the days of flowing fabrics paired with braided hairstyles, and while they are flat-soled sensible the straps of a gladiator sandal are anything but easy to slip on. Instead this shoe take time, attention and leaves the wearer feeling Goddess-worthy.

The gladiator sandals is available in a variety of styles, colors and prices from budget-friendly {here, here, here, here and here} to splurge-worthy {here, here, here, here and here}.
