Spring To-Dos

spring to do

“That is one good thing about this world…there are always sure to be more springs.” – L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Avonlea

So far I have experienced the end of winter and the beginning of spring in South Florida, and while the weather seems to flow seamlessly from one season to the next with minimal differences in temperatures, I am still a firm believer in celebrating each season.

As I take advantage of the beautiful days ahead, I like to keep a running list of my favorite things to do each season. With spring I always feel a need to clean, organize, freshen up my makeup and wardrobe, along with indulging in fresh flowers and enjoying lighter foods. Whether it’s warm and sunny by you or just starting to lose the chill in the air, there is something for everyone to do when spring rolls around.

Here’s my list of spring to-dos:

Instead of your usual Sunday brunch get-together, plan a picnic in the park with your love
Add a jolt of spring color to your go-to outfits with a fun new lipstick or gloss
Try new recipes with seasonal vegetables and lighter foods that match the springtime
Relax outdoors with a glass of wine and a good book
Fill your home, office or just a tiny corner with fresh flowers
Spend an afternoon relaxing at the beach (or if you are in the city shed a few layers in your favorite park)
Spring clean your home (or in my case unpack all the boxes once we move in!)
Try a new workout or go to a new studio (I’ll be trying this location once we move into our chateau)
Dine alfresco
Refresh your home with a cheery new pillow on the sofa or linens in the bedroom
Play hooky from school or work to go on a day-long spontaneous adventure
Explore your own city as if you were a tourist and try a new restaurant, museum or cafe
Go for a leisurely bike ride with your girlfriends
Splurge on a new spring essential (this bag, this dress, this jumpsuit, these jeans, and this d’orsay flat are on my wishlist)
Clean out your closet and sell/donate what you won’t be wearing anymore (then use that money to buy something new for spring!)
