“Luck is believing you’re lucky “ – Tennessee Williams
St. Patrick’s Day tradition may call for us to deck ourselves out in green but there are chicer ways to go about it than the standard “Kiss Me I’m Irish” tee. Rather than go that route I’ll be digging through my closet (err, suitcase since we are still waiting to move into the new chateau) and pairing up a favorite piece with a neutral to be festive yet not OTT. A few of my favorite wardrobe staples include a striped green top, emerald colored silky blouse, and olive green pants.
Rather than running out to buy something green, dig through your wardrobe and view each green-colored piece you come across as how it would work to create a whole outfit – pair that polka dot sweater with a boldly colored skirt for an office appropriate style, keep it simple with a floral shift dress and pops of green accessories or add stripes to a myriad of green pieces – either camo, floral or emerald green. Colored pants with a neutral top creates a classic, chic ensemble that is just right for the office, on campus or running errands.
The above outfits are all created with classic wardrobe pieces paired with pops of green. These looks are chic and will leave anyone who sees you in one of these ensembles “green with envy” 😉 Tell me, what are you planning to wear for St. Patrick’s Day?
