Upgraded Breakfast Bagel

I love a classic breakfast bagel with gooey cheese, ham, and egg sandwich, but have been yearning for something more lately, So after a trip to the grocery store searching for just the right ingredients I created an upgraded version of the classic breakfast bagel sandwich made with elevated ingredients.


Freshly Baked Bagels {I used blueberry and everything}
Prosciutto {about 1/3 pound cut in thick slices for two sandwiches}
Maple Smoked White Cheddar Cheese
1 – 2 large eggs per sandwich
Garlic Aioli
Sea Salt
Cracked Pepper

Prosciutto has a salty taste so mixing the maple smoked cheddar cheese creates a play on the salty and sweet combination most people enjoy eating together. The garlic aioli adds a depth of flavor to these main ingredients.

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees
Butter or spray a muffin pan then crack an egg in each individual muffin hole
Sprinkle each egg with sea salt and cracked pepper
Cook for about 23 minutes {I like my eggs just slightly under done}
Slice and toast the bagels a few minutes before the eggs are done
Spread aiolo sauce on one end of the bagel
Layer the smoked maple cheddar cheese on the bottom on the bagel
Place 1 – 2 eggs on the bagel and cheese
Top with sliced prosciutto and sprinkle with chives
Serve while still warm

My favorite part to this meal is that it reaches my daily goal for a delicious dinner made in under 30 minutes, while also reminding the Mr. and I of our favorite bagel sandwich spot in NYC.
