NYC Weekend

“Women come to New York for the two L’s – labels and love.” – Carrie Bradshaw

I’ve hinted at a few favorite moments from our latest trip to NYC {here & here} but wanted to give you more details on this Travel Tuesday of my favorites to shop/see/eat/drink on a winter weekend getaway to New York City.

My ideal morning starts out with a walk through Central Park and then begins with shopping on the Upper West Side stopping at my go-to shops, along with window shopping favorite brands and new shops (Celine, Chloe, Calypso St. Barth)
Kate Spade (exclusive items other KS shops don’t receive and it’s 4 stories of shopping possibilities!)
Joie (the combination of French-influenced style times laid-back California girl is perfect and this shop is gorgeous).

I like to refuel with a quick stop at Ladurée for a macaron (or 3!) before moving on to Barneys. This is my must shop every time. From the shoe department to handbags and on to the beauty department, I can happily spend an entire day in Barneys.

During the holidays (from Oct – Dec) Bryant Park has the best Christmas shops. Once spring rolls around the beautiful little park behind the New York Public Library is my favorite spot to sit and watch the world go by.

When it’s time to eat my sweet tooth always searches out one of these favorite treats listed below, while the Mister finds us a new restaurant to try, along with our favorite burgers and food trucks.

Sweet Revenge (perfect date night spot with cupcake and wine pairings)
Baked By Melissa (teeny mini cupcakes with shops throughout Manhattan)
La Maison du Chocolate (Parisian hot chocolate and decadent treats, including the seasonal Christmas bûche de Noël)
Death + Company (I’m don’t drink liquor very often, but swooned over their seasonal egg nog, along with their yummy small bites and moody atmosphere)
Atera (a modern restaurant for foodies that seats you around the chef’s kitchen)
Uncle Gussy’s Food Truck (a food truck or two is always a must-do)
Shake Shack (best burgers and milkshakes – several locations but my favorites are by the Met and Madison Square Park)
