“I do not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” – Voltaire
I’d like to take today to focus on the beauty and love that is Paris. I’m often thinking of Paris, it is my adopted by choice home. I’ve lived there twice and every time I go back I leave the city instantly longing to return. The beauty and wonder that I encounter day by day in Paris is incomparable to any other place I have been. Whether I am wondering the picturesque streets, admiring the buildings, taking a quiet stroll through a park to be lost in my own thoughts or indulging in a decadent treat from a favorite pâtisserie, Paris fills me with an exquisite joy every day.
In light of the recent tragedies, Paris has been on my mind even more. Any killing is horrific, but these atrocities affected me deeply. Not only because of my love for Paris and what this beautiful city represents, but also the horror and injustice over killing artists who were expressing themselves. As a writer I love to tell my story, my moments. I appreciate anyone else who is willing to put a bit of their soul out there for all the world to view. These artists were murdered for expressing themselves and it is just horrifying. We cannot let freedom of expression be abolished due to fear, control or threats. #jesuischarlie
