A Day At The University Of Florida

Along with enjoying the warmth and sun, the Mister and I love traveling to Florida to visit the University of Florida to see our Florida Gators. Honestly, we enjoy this so much that going to the Gators’ last basketball game of the season was one of the main reasons behind our latest trip to Florida.

After leaving the cold dreary grey of the DC area, we had a sunny drive down South, stopping off in Savannah before we headed to the Swamp {AKA Gainesville, FL}.

Once in Gainesville we went to several of our favorite spots, including a must-indulge stop at Gumby’s {a local pizza joint} for Pokey stix {seriously, these cheese bread sticks are worth every sinful calorie}, and a sushi overload at Dragonfly, along with several other favorite spots.

Post-basketball game we had the prettiest stroll around campus taking in the sights; venerable old brick buildings, Southern trees with Spanish moss clinging to them mixing with Floridian palm trees, while the sun shined overhead and the weather was a breezy 75 degrees. It was such a perfect day on campus that I had to share it. Hope you enjoy the sights too!
