Farmers Market + New Recipes

This weekend the hubs’ younger brother visited and it was the perfect excuse to to try out some new recipes. I bought nearly everything I needed at the Farmers Market, along with my favorite treats {blueberries are my weekly requirement}. I really enjoy my weekly trip to the Farmers Market and although the food does cost a bit more, it’s worth it to support something that I find to be extremely important – fresh food that is naturally grown.

After years of thinking I couldn’t cook I have become quite comfortable in the kitchen, and have found cooking to be something I really enjoy. I go all Zen when I cook, lost in a world of spices while listening to my favorite songs playing in the background.

Recipes:

Chicken Burgers with Mint Greek Yogurt – I substituted lamb for chicken and made small sliders instead of large burgers and used mini pita breads instead of full size versions.

Summer Chickpea Salad – This salad was absolutely delicious, filling and easy to make. The only change I made was to use sun-dried tomatoes for a bit more flavor and texture instead of plain yellow tomatoes.
